Diversity
Tune: Hermas (Not in AHB or TiS)
Methodist Hymn-book 820 Presbyterian Hymnary 133
Searching here together
For our common ground,
We as human beings
Are so firmly bound;
We, who seek the ‘sacred’
With diversity,
Can respect each others’
Calm integrity.
All kind, peaceful precepts
Prompt life’s dignity.
Many paths are followed
To the ‘Mystery’.
Midst the disagreement
We can still find peace;
Can we hear each ‘truth-claim’
Then find some release
From our easy anger,
Sense of real dismay?
We can rise above this
Throw disdain away.
All kind, peaceful precepts
Prompt life’s dignity;
Many paths are followed
To the ‘Mystery’.
