Local Stories from Queensland

Early in 2008 the Aspley Uniting Church Interfaith Committee (Aspley, Queensland) met with representatives from the Local Anglican, Catholic and Muslim Communities and agreed that a North Brisbane Interfaith Group should be formed to continue and develop Interfaith activities on the north side of Brisbane.

The Group adopted the following four main objectives to guide its activities:

  • To provide informal social occasions where members of different Faith communities can strengthen their personal relations with one another;
  • To provide educational opportunities for people to learn more about each other’s Faith and practice;
  • To organize major public Multifaith and Interfaith events that promote the Interfaith message within the wider community;
  • To engage in or sponsor practical interfaith projects with a local and/or international focus.

The full story of the formation of the North Brisbane Interfaith Group can be viewed here. You may also be interested in the six year history of Interfaith events at Aspley Uniting Church.
