NCCA calls churches to deeper prayer

In its first resolution, the newly-elected Board of the National Council of Churches in Australia (NCCA) has called on Australian churches for a “Year of Prayer”.

The resolution, which came in response to a request to the recent Ninth NCCA Forum, suggests a theme based on Psalm 51:10:

“Create in me a clean heart O God. And put a new and right spirit within me”.

The Board including President Bishop Phillip Huggins and General Secretary Sr Elizabeth Delaney met on 22 July 2016 - the Catholic feast day for Mary Magdalene.

The Uniting Church in Australia is one of 19 NCCA member churches representing more than 11 million Australian Christians.
