It is a busy time of year for all of us.
Over the past few days as I have been thinking about preparations for our Christmas, I have also been reflecting on what has been happening in the world in 2015.
The acts of terrorism in France, Turkey and Beirut, the plight of refugees fleeing their homeland and the desperate measures they are taking.
The good news is that even when these events happen, the peace of Christ can still rule in our hearts.
Many of the Christmas cards I have received have images or words about Peace. Peace is one of the gifts that we celebrate at this time of the year. Angels proclaiming Peace on Earth announcing the birth of the Prince of Peace to the shepherds. Other cards contain lines from Christmas carols; they encourage us to burst into song, while others contain bible quotes and proclaim the Saviour’s birth.
As all the members of your U.C.A.F. group prepare themselves for the Christmas season, may I encourage them to take a moment and reflect as I have on the world events that have happened this year.
The following is taken from a Christmas card that I received last Christmas and I would like to share it with you.
May you have the spirit of Christmas which is Peace…
The gladness of Christmas which is Hope….
The heart of Christmas, which is Love ….
