The Uniting Church in Australia is the third largest Christian denomination in Australia. The Assembly is the national council of the Uniting Church with responsibility for matters of doctrine, worship, government, discipline, policy and promoting the Church's mission in the world.
The Uniting Church’s theology and its values commitment, made in response to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, establishes a clear mandate to provide a safe place for all people in the church. The Uniting Church is committed to learning from its past and working collaboratively to create the safest possible organisational context to serve the Australian community.
The Assembly is seeking a suitably qualified individual for the newly established role of Director, National Safe Church Unit. The National Safe Church Unit will work across the whole of the Uniting Church in Australia, tasked to provide and resource the change required to deliver the above commitment. The role will report to Assembly Standing Committee through the General Secretary of the Assembly. Base location is negotiable however some interstate travel will be required.
