Current General Secretary, Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, has indicated he will not be seeking a third term.

A Search Committee was elected by the WCC Central Committee and had its first organising meeting in November 2018.

The deadline for submitting an application with the nomination form from the member church is 1 May 2019.

A shortlist of candidates will be determined at the 9-11 July 2019 Search Committee meeting.

Interviews will be held 29-31 October 2019 and the final candidate(s) will be brought to the Central Committee for election at its next meeting in March 2020.
