CEO, ARDS

Aboriginal Resource and Development Services (ARDS) is a long-established Uniting Church-based Aboriginal organisation committed to facilitating the social participation and well-being of Indigenous people.

We operate at the cultural interface in remote communities – especially East Arnhem Land - with a commitment to community development programs, effective communication and bicultural teamwork.

We have Broadcasting and Digital Media, Language and Resources & Community Development units and operational bases in both Darwin, and Nhulunbuy, NT.

The position: We are seeking an experienced CEO / Senior professional Manager with Indigenous engagement experience to work with direction from the Yolngu Board to manage the operations of ARDS, lead the team and to engage with both NT and Commonwealth governments, agencies and strategic partners in the promotion of its Broadcasting and Digital Media, Language and Resources & Community Development units capacities and capabilities.

The successful candidate will need to have strong strategic interpersonal skills, financial and management experience, knowledge of cultures that may include the ability of speaking an indigenous language.

The Board is looking to make an appointment and have a new CEO to commence from November 2020 or as soon as practical for the right candidate.
