Tongan Youth lead ASC worship

The Tongan youth group Soul Purpose gave a dynamic opening worship at the July Assembly Standing Committee meeting.

The group performed skits - singing and interpretive dance - from the 30th Tongan National Conference (TNC) in June.

The performances included a portrayal of Jesus’ encounter with the woman from Samaria at the well in John 4 and Jesus’ conversations with his disciples after his resurrection.

ASC member Rev. Haloti Kailahi offered brief reflections on 2 Corinthians 13:11-13 and Matthew 11:28-30 about how to reclaim and energise the mind, body and soul, before Holy Communion was shared.

Soul Purpose is a Uniting Church youth group in NSW with members from Sutherland Shire, Jannali and Dapto congregations, guided respectively by Rev. Kamaloni Tu'iono, Rev. Salesi Faupula and Rev. Charissa Suli.
