It was signed by UCA Stuart McMillan and EKN President Rev Vili Kamupala Viviani during the joyous worship of celebration at Ramsgate Uniting Church in Sydney’s south.
“I am delighted to renew this partnership, and to renew the mission of Jesus Christ alongside our Niuean sisters and brothers,” said President McMillan.
“Our partnership with the Congregational Christian Church of Niue affirms the rich gifts that the Niuean diaspora bring to the life and future of the Uniting Church.”
More than 80 Niuean members came together to map out the future for the Niuean diaspora faith communities in Australia.
Niuean National Conference Chairperson Rev Matagi Vilitama knows that the Niuean faith community has a valuable contribution to make in the life of the Uniting Church.
They looked at how all National Conferences across the Uniting Church could work together in developing young and lay leaders, and welcoming Niuean members from other denominations.
The Niuean diaspora across Australia and New Zealand continue to have strong ties with their home church, and are always seeking new and creative ways to support its ministry.
Our partnership agreement with EKN was facilitated by UnitingWorld to recognise our shared resources and ministry together.
