Sharing the Congress Spirit

Members of the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress National Executive have met in Sydney to plan their future activities.

National President Rev. Garry Dronfield led worship and chaired the meeting.

Congress member Alison Overeem, who manages the UAICC’s Leprena Centre in Hobart, Tasmania, guided members in techniques for creating safe spaces to build hope and dignity.

Assembly General Secretary Colleen Geyer addressed the meeting and spoke of the Assembly’s priorities for work with the UAICC during this triennium, and her hopes for increased engagement with Covenanting across the Church.

The meeting at Uniting Theological College in North Parramatta is also looking at scheduling an Aboriginal Youth Leaders conference in Western Australia next year and is beginning preliminary conversations around the next UAICC National Conference in January 2021.
