Armenia’s Angels in the UCA

Members of the Australian Armenian community, civic and religious leaders all came together at St Stephen’s Uniting Church in Sydney this week, to pay tribute to the Australian humanitarians who provided vital support to survivors of the Armenian Genocide.

Honouring Our Tongan Connections

Their Majesties, King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau'u of Tonga opened a new school buildings at Sydney's Newington College this week, in a ceremony that honoured longstanding close connections between respective churches and states.

Uniting Church leaders were honoured to be in attendance.

Orlando Hate Attacks

The Uniting Church in Australia expresses its deep sorrow at the deaths of 49 people in a despicable act of violence at a gay nightclub in the city of Orlando in the US state of Florida over the weekend.

No words of comfort we say are enough to console the families and loved ones, or to heal the damage done by this hateful act of homophobia.

President launches Storm Relief Appeal

The President of the Uniting Church in Australia Stuart McMillan has today launched a national appeal to assist communities hit by recent storms.

An intense low pressure system off Australia’s east coast has led to a number of deaths and widespread damage to property. Residents across New South Wales are facing a massive clean-up while Tasmanians are experiencing the worst floods in 90 years.
